Libertarian Party of Queens County
 

As Amended by the Convention of June 12,1999


ARTICLE I MEMBERSHIP

  1. Voting membership shall be open to any Queens County resident who (i) signs the national Libertarian Party's membership pledge and (ii) pays the LPQC's required annual dues.
  2. Subscribing (non-voting) membership shall be open to anyone who pays LPQC dues but does not live in Queens County and/or does not sign the pledge.

 

ARTICLE II CONVENTIONS

  1. The LPQC shall hold an Annual Convention between January 1 and June 30 every year.
  2. This convention shall elect officers and may endorse candidates (see Article V), amend bylaws, adopt policy resolutions and choose a representative to the State Committee.

 

ARTICLE III OFFICERS

  1. The LPQC shall have the following officers: Chair; Vice Chair; Secretary; Treasurer; Membership Secretary; Representative to the Libertarian Party of New York; and Immediate Past Chair. The terms of the aforesaid officers shall be for a period of one year. All of the aforesaid officers shall comprise the Executive Committee, which shall meet quarterly.
  2. The Executive Committee, subject to direction by Annual or Special Conventions, shall set membership dues, allocate funds and set policy.
  3. Officers shall be elected by a majority vote at the Annual Convention of the LPQC. If any office becomes vacant between Annual Conventions, or remains unfilled after an Annual Convention, it may be filled at a general meeting by the election of officers who shall serve until the next Annual Convention.

 

ARTICLE IV AMENDMENT OF BYLAWS

The bylaws may be amended by two-thirds vote of the Annual Convention or a Special Convention.

 

ARTICLE V ENDORSEMENTS

Candidates for public office may be endorsed by two-thirds vote of the Annual Convention or by a four-fifths majority of the Executive Committee at any time between the adjournment of the Annual Convention and the general election of that year, provided that if a Special Convention is called before the petitioning period starts, it shall be subject to ratification.

 

ARTICLE VI SPECIAL CONVENTION

Special Conventions can be called by either four out of five Executive Committee members or set by them within six weeks upon submission of a petition signed by 25% of the membership.

 

ARTICLE VII MEETINGS

All meetings shall be conducted according to Robert's Rules of Order Newly Revised.

 

ARTICLE VIII

Any item not covered in these Bylaws shall be governed by the bylaws of the Libertarian Party of New York.
